Throughout the year we also offer various events which we feel benefit our students greatly. CONCERT After the concert our Pupil of the year award will be presented as will medals to honour special achivements by our young pupils. SUMMER MUSIC WORKSHOP Children’s Workshop – Aimed at children aged between 4 and 8 years of age (older children are welcome but may find it less enjoyable). Children will have the opportunity to sing, dance, act and use basic instruments. All songs learnt have an educational aspect and teach children about instruments and the world we live in. They will be encouraged to use the art and crafts available to make scenery and props to use. This is a fun workshop which will help boost confidence and will use games to help children bond and make new friends. Orchestra – Aimed at students aged 7 and over. Discover how much fun can be had when playing in a group situation, new pieces of music will be learnt and performed in a show at the end of the workshop. An element of composition will also be involved. This workshop will be most enjoyable to players grade 1 and above although students are welcome at any level. There are a few places available for students with no musical experience. A violin materclass will be included for all students as will various opportunities to explore music through art. Rockschool/Band – Aimed at students age 10 and over who play guitar, drums, keyboard or who love to sing. Ideally participants should be at grade 1 level and above. This workshop will explore different types of music and sound, learning how to use recording equipment with a view to recording their own track and performing their chosen song at the end of the course. The band will have the opportunity to use Sibelius to notate and print off their own composition. The group will be introduced to different types of music and a guitar workshop and drumming workshop will be incorporated for all students. Workshops are being held at our studios in Ham, from 3rd - 5th August inclusive and will run from 10am - 4pm (Parents are welcome on Thursday the 5th at 3pm to watch their children perform in the final show) The cost per student is only £60 for the three day workshop. Additional childcare is available at an extra cost for working parents. Places are very limited so please book early to avoid disappointment (you do not have to be a student of All Sorts of Music to join the workshops). |
